How we HELP!

The LiL Homie project was created by Cherisse Ervin to honor her late son Adarryl Ervin. Adarryl, also known by his stage name LiL Homie, was a promising young musician known for story telling throughout his rhymes. After the record label he was signed to was shut down in 2009 Adarryl was left to figure things out on his on without his outlet, music. Adarryl’s personality started to change rapidly. By the age of nineteen years old he began drinking, using drugs, and having regular outburst of anger/rage towards his loved ones. After noticing his erratic mood swings, his mother decided to have him admitted for a psychiatric evaluation. It was at that moment Adarryl was diagnosed with bipolar depression with manic episodes. Like others, Adarryl was prescribed medication to relieve his symptoms but he chose to continue to self-medicate instead.

People with bipolar disorder experience periods of unusually intense emotion, changes in
sleep patterns and activity levels, and unusual behaviors. These distinct periods are called “mood
episodes.” Mood episodes are drastically different from the moods and behaviors that are typical for the
person. Extreme changes in energy, activity, and sleep go along with mood episodes.

Proper diagnosis and treatment help people with bipolar depression disorder lead healthy and
productive lives. Talking with a doctor or other licensed mental health professional is the first step for
anyone who thinks he or she may have bipolar disorder. The doctor can complete a physical exam to
rule out other conditions. If the problems are not caused by other illnesses, the doctor may conduct a
mental health evaluation or provide a referral to a trained mental health professional, such as a
psychiatrist, who is experienced in diagnosing and treating bipolar disorder.

Thru Faith, Strength, Prayer & Love. The Lil Home Project vows to inspire young adults that
they can have a bright future despite of the challenges that life will throw their way. We will show them
they are not alone and people do care about them, that they have plenty of options with their lives. We
will utilize a music platform to create promise, hope and inspiration.
